Keeping our food safe is a national concern. It is estimated that 76 million people had foodborne illness in 1999 — 5,000 people die of foodborne illness in the United States each year. Foodborne illness results in sickness, lost wages, and even death. These tip sheets will help you keep food safe and prevent foodborne illness.
